We connected in early 2021, and from the very beginning, it felt easy – effortless conversation, shared interests, and a mutual appreciation for a truly bad joke made it clear a first date was in the cards.<\/p>\n
Blending Charles\u2019 love of history with Ashley\u2019s love of the outdoors, we met at York Redoubt with a coffee and tea in hand, ready to explore the trails along the water. Just a few minutes after arriving, Charles suggested we sit on a bench – not unlike the one pictured below over looking the water, to enjoy our drinks before heading onto the trails.<\/p>\n
What was meant to be a quick stop turned into four hours of laughter, meaningful conversation, and sharing stories. Ashley did her best (and failed) to impress Charles with her helicopter knowledge as they flew overhead \u2014 a moment that still makes us laugh.<\/p>\n
By the time we finally stood up from that bench, we both knew there was something special there. We did eventually make it onto the trails\u2026 and into our next date.<\/p>\n
The rest, as they say, is history – and we can\u2019t wait to celebrate this next chapter of our story with all of you.<\/p>\n
